Our team are passionate about nature and dedicate their time to improving places for nature. This is why we set up the Wild Ideas community group.
We are dedicated to supporting community activity for nature, community, well-being and youth through practical activity, such as practical conservation, exploration of issues and achievable responses to these issues. This includes working with groups to understand the issues which are important to them and exploring routes to sustainable change, including community gardening, fuel efficient community initiative, green space activity to encourage more time outside and nature resource entertainment.
We fundraise, we workshop, we organise and we make outdoor spaces better places for wildlife and well-being through practical conservation; planting, sowing, hedgelaying, access and habitat creation.
We also monitor wildlife in our spare time, Debs is delivering the Big Teignbridge Hedgehog Survey and we are distributing dormouse tunnels for Autumn monitoring of our small fluffy friends.
Our main focus is supporting communities to improve outdoor spaces for nature and well-being.
You’re welcome to join us at any time because we’re always looking for help as well as ideas for our next project.
Our work parties are on Saturdays in Teignbridge and Torbay. Contact us to let us know you want to come along. We’ll provide tea and coffee, but you need to bring your sandwiches and wear rough clothes and sturdy shoes.
We are also always on the look out for new committee members to bring more ideas and expertise to Wild Ideas’ community group.
