Since February 2021, our Environmental Education training is being delivered as an online course.

  • What makes a good leader?
  • Learning theory
  • Non-formal education methods (children and adults)
  • Public speaking

  • Planning and delivering a learning activity
  • GDPR (Data protection)

The support does not end there…

You will then have the opportunity to complete a portfolio of experience over the summer to complete the course through voluntary, paid or personal experience.  This will provide you  with evidence of your skills to take to interviews or to negotiate a new contract….

Options for attendance:
  • across 7 evening sessions of two hours with c4 hours of self study
  • across 6 Friday day-time sessions

Our Face to Face Course

Following our successful pilot programmes, we will shortly begin taking bookings for our 2023 Environmental Education Skills course.

Fabulous on-site self catering accommodation is provided, close to public transport and the A38, making it easy to get to us.  Accommodation is available from the Sunday night, so you’re not feeling rushed on the Monday morning!

Over the course of the week, we will help you to take your emotional connection with nature and the natural environment and use that to develop your skills in engaging a wide range of groups in connecting with nature.

On completion, you will receive a Wild Ideas Certificate of Training, along with your personal career plan.

Debs has been working with schools and community groups for over 15 years, supporting school and community groups to engage with nature in their local green spaces as well as working as a ranger for East Devon District Council and a Key Volunteer with TCV (BTCV).

A skilled trainer, Debs believes that, if you’re having fun; you’re learning and she uses this belief in the development and delivery of her courses.
