Shotcut is a free, open-source, cross-platform video editing software that you can use on Windows, macOS and Linux.It is not available for tablet or phone use.
Shotcut video editing software offers audio scopes for volume, sound level meter, waveform, as well as a spectrum analyzer, volume control, plenty of audio filters and track mixing. And, no, I didn’t use those at first, either.
Getting started:
Recording a voice-over
this is one of the most common aspects I use in Shotcut. Personally, I use Audacity (a fabulous open source sound editor) but you can record directly in Shotcut, meaning you need less apps on your computer!
Your Turn to practice:
Make a short (less than two minutes) video about ladybirds – here’s some free footage you can use: https://www.pexels.com/search/videos/ladybirds/.
You don’t need to know anything about them – just talk about colours, ‘spotty-ness’, etc.
