Now what?

Now What?

What else do we need to think about?

There are a few more things to think about, again, don’t worry, we are here to help….

Insurance

Your Programme Co-ordinator, Debs can advise on how to arrange insurance cover, training, policies and any other paperwork your group may need.

Training

As well as the written guides that are available for you, there are other information sessions and training courses that your members will be able to attend.

Typical training available:

Basic health and safety guidance for practical works such as litter picking and use of small hand tools such as bow saws and loppers.
Running a group: from organising a meeting, or dealing with the group’s finances, to matters relating to volunteers.

Funding

Your Friends of Parks group may require funding to support some of the activities you are planning to carry out. There are several ways you can raise funds, including: –

  • Fundraising events
  • Sponsorship from local businesses
  • Collecting donations
  • Approaching funding organisations

Further information and support about running a fundraising event, bid-writing, sponsorship and collecting donations is available on help sheets available from your Programme Co-ordinator, Debs.

Wild Ideas is on hand to offer advice and support to your group, from setting up a new group to project development, funding and seeking training.
