FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF)
£45 – £70
Running alongside the Emergency Paediatric First Aid training.
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. This award also satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners.
This unit consists of theoretical and practical work; assessment includes a multiple-choice question paper. A range of subjects is covered including:
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Resuscitation
- Shock
- Assessment of the situation
- Minor injuries
- Epilepsy
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Anaphylaxis
- Wounds and bleeding
- Anatomy
- Choking
- Basic hygiene in First Aid
- Bleeding control
A three-year certificate will be issued, subject to assessment; the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours
Please Note:
- You will need to bring photo ID
- Please wear loose comfortable clothing as there will be floorwork involved
- This is a full day course and refreshments are provided, but you will need to make your own arrangements for lunch.
This course is open to all. We offer subsidised courses to learners from voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups in Teignbridge, and these groups are eligible for the lowest cost Teignbridge VCSE ticket. These groups outside of Teignbridge are eligible for the mid-rate VCSE ticket. Statutory sector and all others, please purchase a full price ticket.

Booking Conditions
Booking is limited to 2 people from a single organisation for any one training course. If you would like more places, please email us with details of the extra persons, and if spaces become available close to the date of the course we will contact you.
To offer this service, Teignbridge CVS holds the data you supply on the Devon Voluntary Action database, in accordance with the latest data protection regulations, in order to administer the course and report on our activities to funders with anonymised data. If you do not consent to this, please do not proceed with your purchase or registration.
Cancellation Terms
If you are unable to attend you may send someone in your place or:
More than two weeks’ notice – full refund
Less than two weeks’ notice – full amount payable.
The CVS reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses, in which event a full refund will be offered. In the event of a course being cancelled, at least 3 days’ notice will be given, unless circumstances beyond our control intervene.
